Since 1917, The Rotary Foundation has spent over $3 billion on life-changing and sustainable projects around the world. The foundation, which proudly holds a 4 Star Charity rating from Charity Navigator, uses 91% of the donations received to support service projects that fall into one of Rotary’s six areas of focus. Donating to the foundation is an opportunity to support the Rotary Family and its projects that promote peace, provide clean water, save mothers and children, support education, grow local economies, and fight disease.
November 27 is Giving Tuesday, a day when our worldwide Rotary Family makes a special effort to make a donation to the foundation. This year, 7020’s District Governor Patrick Adizua and his District Team have presented us with an opportunity to make a significant contribution. The Rotary District Team will match donations being made to the foundation by 7020 Rotaractors! This initiative is a representation of our commitment as Rotaractors and Rotarians to each other and to the foundation. I encourage you to join the Giving Tuesday initiative and make a donation to the Rotary Foundation. Be creative in the ways you participate. You can make individual contributions, or you can make a contribution as a Club. Visit our website for conditions and how to process your donation.
We also celebrate Interact Week this month. Take some time to seek out Interact Clubs across our District that you can support. You can visit meetings, work together on a project, or even help them to plan and create a video for the Interact Video Awards. Work to start or strengthen a relationship with an Interact Club; our family can only get stronger when we work and build together.
